SCOON Records with Given names starting
with V
This page lists individuals whose surname was SCOON or one of its variants
and had the first given name starting with V.
The format of the table is hopefully largely explanatory, but some abbeviations
are used to limit the size of the files:
-
Each individual's record has a unique ID. There is no significance
to the number except that it corresponds to the ID on the database which
I use!
-
Within letters, records are grouped in name groups (e.g. Elizabeth, Elisabeth,
Eliza, etc) and are ordered by date of birth within those groups
-
Surnames are shown in upper case and are normally omitted where the surname
is SCOON (except in the 'Married' column)
-
In the mother/father/spouse columns, ID number may follow the name to ease
identification - this is always done for SCOON entries
-
For dates '-- --- YYYY' means that there is an identifiable index entry for
the event in that year; 'abt YYYY' is used for estimated dates. e.g. from
census entries, MIs, etc, 'abt YYYY/YY' is an estimated range used to order
the records
-
Where a cell has the value "?" this indicates that there is a missing value
which I have yet to trace - suggestions always welcome!
-
Census entries are basically in the format <reference>
<address> ; <occupation>.
-
At this stage, the coverage of census references is limited.
-
Census entries may be headed by *Fa (father) *Mo (mother) *Sp (spouse) *Br
(brother) *Un (uncle) *FL, *ML, *BL (father, etc in law) etc.
These indicate that this relative was the head of the household .
-
When the relative identified in this way has his/her own entry, the
reference/address fields are omitted for the other family members.
-
When the relative identified does not have their entry some identification
is normally given, e.g. *SL (James Smith, Butcher)
-
Where no census data is available (e.g. USA 1890) an
alternative is used if available (e.g. Voter registration)
